FAQ's

How do I get the haircut I want?

Communication is the Key!

Bring a photo- Bringing a picture along of the style you are after is still the most efffective way to show a stylist or colouris what you are thinking - especially when it comes to colour.  One persons 'honey blonde' is anothr persons toast.

Fess Up - Be honest with your stylist with what your hair texture is like.  Come to the appointment after letting your hair air-dry so they can see it in your natural state.  Also let them know what home maintentance your prepared to do to acheive your look.

Bare All - Explain what your personal style is.  What you wear, where you work and how much effort your willing to put into your hair.

Show, don't tell - Have you ever seen a ruler in a salon?  Although 2 inches is specific, it is much easier to show your stylist where you want your hair to sit.

Set Limits - Never say "Do whatever you want" and don't be shy about speaking up during the process if you are feeling uncomfortable.  Set limits, If you are unsure of what you want, let them know what you don't want and work around that.

How can I prevent "split ends"?

To help prevent split ends never dry your hair by rubbing it with a towel, instead use a towel like a turban.  After washing your hair use a leave in conditioner which makes combing easier and provides extra condition and shine. To prevent further breakages, make the effort to get your hair trimmed at least every six weeks. Long hair is particularly prone to split ends, so switch to a specially formulated shampoo such as Wella Repair Shampoo.  For a short term fix, however, it is possible to seal the ends by smoothing a tiny amount of your everyday styling cream over them. Try ghd Polishing Serum.

If I'm going to colour my hair, when should I shampoo it?

You shouldn't shampoo immediately before colouring because this will remove the natural oils the protect your scalp during the colouring process.  It is best to shampoo your hair 24 hours prior to colouring.
